The Hachijo clan is introduced through Kazumi Mishima (née Hachijo), the wife of Heihachi Mishima and mother of Kazuya Mishima. Tekken 7 reveals that the Devil Gene comes from Kazumi's Hachijo bloodline. According to the story, the Hachijo clan foresaw that Heihachi would bring great destruction to the world, so Kazumi was sent to stop him. She later transformed into a devil and fought Heihachi, who ultimately killed her.
